This fast-moving and provocative session will leave you with actionable insights to broaden your understanding of and to reshape how you think about harnessing the incredible power of gratitude in advancing philanthropy and heath care.
Plenary 3: Newton-Wellesley Hospital Community Collaborative: How Innovative Engagement Nourished Philanthropic Leadership
Since 2017, the NWH Community Collaborative has worked to unite hospital champions with local volunteers to reduce healthcare disparities, strengthen the social fabric of support, and empower residents to lead healthier lives. Our goal is to create a future where every community member has equitable access to health services and to be a part of a resilient network of support and wellness for all. Along the way, this engagement has inspired some of our most transformative philanthropic investments and brought meaningful volunteer leaders into our hospital family.
Plenary 4: The Way Forward: Navigating McLean’s Journey
McLean launched the largest campaign in its history in October 2019, seeking to raise an unprecedented $225M including an unprecedented $125M for capital projects. Five months later, the pandemic changed everything, from the shape and size of the campaign to the need for mental health services. We’ll share how McLean navigated the setbacks and surprises of the past five years and the vital roles that prior planning, steady leadership and dedicated co-chairs have had in our ultimate success.
